Where Am I Now? True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame
by Mara Wilson
I was looking forward to reading this since I grew up watching Mara Wilson in movies (I especially loved Matilda) but I was actually pleasantly surprised with how much I really loved this book. Mara Wilson's writing is fun and witty while managing to remain incredibly honest and genuine. She shows her story telling skills in how well balanced the book is. It's the right combination of childhood memories, coming of age and adulthood. Whether it's a funny and lighthearted story or she's talking about a more serious subject like her struggles with OCD and anxiety or her Mother's death when she was 8, she writes with a sincerity that is refreshing and touching. I really enjoyed it and didn't want to put it down.
