Absolutely cracked, unhinged, but very entertaining. These characters, the world they live in, and the general plot are not to be taken seriously. That being said, this book is definitely exciting, and will have you turning the pages fast!
This needs to be said though: please take the TWs seriously. There is so much homophobic language and potentially triggering events/interactions in this story. It’s handled pretty bluntly. I know the author is gay, which I had to keep telling myself as I was reading, but this content can be pretty rough. I found it sometimes taking me out of the story. Do not read this if you’re not ok with homophobia being thrown around abruptly and constantly. (This is coming from someone who is gay, but isn’t normally really triggered by homophobia in books).
Though this book was really fun and different from anything else I’ve read, the plot line is kind of weak. Great premise at the beginning, but doesn’t carry hard until the end. In the end, the focus is also taken off the main characters’ relationship, and focuses a surprising amount on a sudden side couple. Their dynamic is fun and insane too, but just felt like their story was suddenly injected into the middle of Brody and Scotty’s.
Read this book if you’re in the mood for something insane but entertaining!
