The Hades Factor by Gayle Lynds, Robert Ludlum

3.0

I've not taken the opportunity to read anything else in Ludlum's canon of work so I'm not entirely sure if this is completely representative of all of his fiction. However, this left a lot to be desired. I felt that the plot plateaued and the resolution was a tad anticlimactic. The characters themselves didn't feel like real people and their motivations seemed a bit hollow and not well fleshed out. It got to a point around 2/3 of the way through where I struggled to motivate myself to pick up the book and continue reading. If the book were shorter I'd say it'd be okay for some light reading but the writing just doesn't offer the payoff I'd hope for from a novel that's 400+ pages. I have no gripe with anyone who does enjoy this book, the writing just didn't click with me.
