I enjoyed it up until the end, but I found myself ultimately disappointed.

Cursed rings that won't come off? Mind control? Magic amulets? So not what I expected. I kept waiting for a logical denouement, the revelation that it was all smoke and mirrors, fueled by superstition and suggestion. But, nope: It was magic. It was just odd.
