I knew very little about Angela Merkel before reading this. What a fascinating woman! I do think this biography is rather light for a politician of her stature, but had it included more details about some of the negotiations and policies she was able to put in place it might not have been so accessible to casual readers. Even if it's rather general in terms of policies, it certainly provided me with more insight into European politics.
