These characters!!!! They just steal your heart away instantly, and it's almost painful to read the early moments of connection when you know something is going to happen to break their friendship. But it makes the healing all the more impactful in the end. Alice Oseman understands the deeply introspective and sometimes irrational minds of young people on the edge of crisis and writes it so well, it's almost impossible to stop reading once you start. The importance of abiding friendship and how it can be literally lifesaving is front and center here, and it's lovely to see.

Also, how I wish Universe City was a real podcast.
