The Last Russian Doll
by Kristen Loesch
medium-paced
This one is mysterious, slow at times, but full of twists that kept me thinking and trying to figure out the plot. This multi-generational story weaves through Soviet Russia and the present day, revealing dark family secrets, hidden identities, and Russian dolls that hold more than just memories.
FMC, Tonya was so reckless with a messy love triangle, dangerous choices, and secrets that literally left me gasping as we uncovered the secrets. The fairytale-style side stories, genius, once I figured it out!
There were times I was confused because there were so many names and twists, but… when the pieces started to click, WOW. The dolls, the truth, the heartbreak... I had to see it through.
While this one did have its slow moments, how everything was revealed came so fast. Messy, haunting, mysterious, and unforgettable this one was and I did enjoy it!
