From some other books, I got the idea that cosy fantasy just wasn't for me. However, this story has proven me wrong! It is the perfect mix of semi-low stakes, but with great characters that live lives I actually care about and can relate to. Their world is a dream and a nightmare in one, and its magical realism makes it adorable. Some other stories had me cringing in the past, but this one clarified why: I'm afraid I'm just not one for the actual creatures etc. This is a personal preference, obviously, and nothing that others shouldn't enjoy.
