Rage by Richard Bachman

1.0

Rage is the first published and written work of Stephen King under his pen name 'Richard Bachman,' which he created to analyze if people liked his work for its quality or the fact it had the name Stephen King under it.

And, wow, not a great way to start your analysis. This book, to put it bluntly, is immature and childish. It takes the horrific realization of a school shooting and makes it out to be a therapy session.

I forget who, but another reviewer for this book put it best, It's like if Holden Caulfield (Catcher in the Rye) held up the Breakfast Club.

There is a constant repetition of the word whiz? Which, out of all the poetic words you could have used, you chose a slang word for peeing? We never get any follow-up on the boy that the classroom beats into a catatonic state at the end. And then, we're still supposed to feel the MC, who keep in mind, is a literal murderer and school shooter, is the good guy?

The only good Stephen King did to this book was take it out of print.
