How did this author manage to write a dark academia book regarding the murder of female cult members boring ???
After enjoying the silent patient so much I was so excited to read this; unfortunately it was incredibly self indulgent and at time, ridiculous. I don’t need the author to wink and nudge at me every time he makes a reference to Greece. We get it, you know stuff about tragedy. This bloke is almost salacious in his desire to remind the reader every two seconds of some high brow thing he knows stuff about.
overall, a really weak and disappointing imitation of Donna Tartt.
