The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa

4.0

I don't know why I never reviewed these books the first time around, but I just adored this series. And this was a perfect end to Ash & Meghan's story.

What's interesting about this book is how it really doesn't showcase the Ash/Meghan storyline, but mostly follows Ash on his journey to get his soul so that he can be with Meghan in the Iron realm. It's a story of adventure, friendship, and determination. Ash really discovers himself on this journey and learns more about his companions as well. The Puck/Ash relationship is something that I've been a fan of since the first book. They play so well off of each other and despite the animosity that comes across, you can tell that they really care about each other. We really got to see that relationship here and how far they will go for each other. And while I was not a fan of the reappearance of a certain character, I get why it was needed and how it forced Ash to face his past and accept it. Growth.

So if I loved it so much, why wasn't it 5 stars? Mostly because there were a few pacing issues and some repetitive feelings/sayings. But besides this, I loved it.

Also shout out to Grim and the Wolf - stars of this book.
