The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb

Did not finish book.

1.0

DNFd. DNFing makes me anxious and sad.

I wanted to like this book. I heard the author speak on an episode of the What Should I Read Next podcast, and he sounded so lovely. I waited from May until October for this popular read to filter through to me via the inter-library system.

1.5 stars for me. I’m not sure if this book was edited. If it was, I feel really bad for this lovely author, because he has really been let down. There were some huge errors; eg vegans do not eat scrambled eggs; a violinist who is inseparable from his violin is certainly going to notice the weight and balance shift created by a sneaker being inside the case instead of the violin, etc. If a story hasn’t had the effort of good editing put into it, I am not going to put in the effort of reading it, sorry.
