This novel found me at a perfect time! The main character, Arthur Less, goes on a world tour to avoid going to his ex’s wedding, as he also frets about turning 50. It was a lovely mix of heartfelt musings on life, love, and aging, while also giving the reader a healthy dose of satirical humor to prevent it from getting too cheesy. A sarcastic gay man’s Eat, Pray, Love, if you will. The plot made me even more excited to do my own traveling soon, and it really put my fears of turning 30 into perspective. Arthur would have LOVED to be turning 30! I’m reminded that nothing is ending (unless I say it is). I like looking at a new decade as a beginning instead! I hope on my own adventures I get to meet some interesting characters like Arthur did. I enjoyed Sean Greer’s style, and Robert Petkoff is an INCREDIBLE narrator. He is remarkably adaptable.
