Exploring Calvin and Hobbes: An Exhibition Catalogue
by Robb Jenny, Bill Watterson
A fun and informative look back at such a groundbreaking comic strip. Since this book acts as a companion to a physical exhibit that existed at one time in The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, the manner in which the material is organized and presented made me feel much like I was perusing it in person. The most exciting inclusion here is a 35-page interview with notoriously press-shy Watterson himself, which covers the beginnings and influences of Calvin & Hobbes as well as his childhood and early career in the comics world. Not a whole lot of new information for die-hard fans, but still a very enjoyable read.
