Hungry Hearts: 13 Tales of Food & Love by Elsie Chapman

4.0

This is the first book of 2021. I'm currently in a sort of a reading slump so I thought that short stories would be one of the best ways to get me out of this situation and indeed it was! :)

This is a short novel compilation with several stories about different residents and homes in Hungry Hearts Row, a neighbourhood that is all about food. Food is at the centre of this community and it's beautiful how the different authors show us that and take us into their lives, showing us how they live, their struggles, their dreams, their fears... This was such a fantastic read. There is a bit of theme for everyone from magical, paranormal, ghosts, mysteries, mafia, love, lgbtqia+, you name it.

This is such a nice book to start the year! Loved it :)
