Brooke
by Ronie Kendig
Finally we get answers to what Brooke was secretly working to uncover and how it all came about.
The Metcalfe family secret unfolds slowly as Cord starts tracking Brooke when he receives an automated response that if he gets this message, something has happened to her. Brooke will go to any extent to protect those she loves, and apparently, so will Cord.
I thought this was a good finale to the series. Although I didn't like
I mentioned this in my other review, I'd really love another 100 pages after the story is finished to unpack the trauma and the whirlwind of everything that happened. The stories in this series end too quickly for me, and there's so much for the characters to process and heal in, it would be interesting to watch that unfold.
I'd recommend this for Ronie Kendig fans, but be aware the content is trafficking-both women and children-so there's some reality in the story about it. Not graphic, but it might be a trigger.

Spoiler
how Brooke's assault at the end seems to be just a blink of an eye and everything is back to normal, it's unrealistic and somehow that event makes her realize she does love Cord after all.I mentioned this in my other review, I'd really love another 100 pages after the story is finished to unpack the trauma and the whirlwind of everything that happened.
