Honestly just brilliant. Heart-wrenching, devastating, and dark, yet so hopeful. Through Butler's Lauren, we are witness to the ultimate devastation and destruction, yet moved through with a genuine truth, clarity and hope for the future. Experiencing the world and story through Lauren's eyes is a gift. A belief in change, and shaping that change is the most hopeful of all. This genre is new for me, but I felt grateful with this reading experience. A lot of content warnings, but so much truth and heart.
