This book contains great read-aloud recommendations as well as compelling reasons to read aloud with your children and ways in which this can be done. However, there is an overarching Christian theme that was not mentioned on the back cover. I am Christian, but it seemed out of place. I wish the Christian elements were confined to their own chapter so the book would be more readable to those who do not share our faith. After all, she strives to make cross-cultural book recommendations. It would make more sense to write a book that would appeal to people from a variety of cultures and religions.
