This is the story about prejudice, friendship, and finding new purpose in life. An importanr theme of this book is the stigma those with disabilities or certain medical conditions face in society.
I absolutely loved every moment reading this heart-warming, bittersweet tale that celebrates acceptance and hope despite the miseries of life. I enjoyed the cozy vibes of the story with all the cherry blossoms and desserts. And I think the friendship between Tokue and Sentaro is beautiful!
Did you know this was made into a movie? It’s called Sweet Bean (2015).
