OH MY GOD, THIS BOOK WAS FANTASTIC! Especially for a debut novel, I was very impressed. It centers on a 12 year old girl who feels like an outcast, we all remember that time I’m sure, and she has strength all to her own. This book deals with so many issues like mental health, abandonment, isolationism, LGBTQ+, and bullying. I LOVED this book. From the troubles of youth to the mistakes of the parents that raise them, this really was a great book. The descriptions were so insightful and really immerses the reader into the island life.
