the start really is slow, and the end is pretty intense. i enjoyed listening to this as i sewed, but it’s not a great or progressive novel. i don’t think i’d particularly recommend it.
some of the SEXUAL HORROR reads as like...a pretty good time, if that’s your thing. and if you’re doing it consensually and not because you’re possessed by a haunted house. also for a dude who’s super into EXCESS and TRANSGRESSION who’d make THE MARQUIS DE SADE BLUSH, you’d think belasco would try sexily haunting some dudes.
