Three Act Tragedy by Agatha Christie
4.0
Having only seen the Suchet adaptation before reading, I was pleasantly surprised by this mystery, in spite of a few period-characteristic moments of sexism and anti-Semitism. It delightfully includes 2 of Christie's best detectives - Poirot and the criminally underrated Mr. Satterthwaite from the Mr. Quin short stories. Christie carries through the investigation from their perspectives as well as that of the aging actor Sir Charles Cartwright and vibrant young Egg Lytton Gore, both of whom irritated me as people but added necessary drama to this theatrical tale. The revelation hews closely in the series so didn't shock me, and I relished following the clues there.
