The Princess Bride by William Goldman

5.0

Pure. Cult. Classic. It contained all the joys of the movie but with the additional content of an extended version. I got to learn more intriguing stories about my favorite characters. Upon invitation, I even dropped the publisher a note asking for my copy of a removed scene. This 25th anniversary edition also has a chapter of a sequel, that's fun, heartwarming, and a bit offputting. Goldman uses some very interesting techniques that I have to give him credit for in the field of ingenuity and risk. It took some bravery to put this piece out there and it seems, if I believe he's telling the truth (which he's made me question at every turn) took many years to get buy-in for the screenplay, much less the film. Thanks, Goldman, for this wild ride.
