It all started at the Boston Public Library where a group of strangers are forced together after a terrified scream is heard. Freddie, Marigold, Whit, and Cain are forced together while security checks the building to make sure everything is okay and a friendship begins. While working on writing their books or trying to survive being in grad school, the group meets up and attempts to figure out what happened that afternoon in the library. While working to figure it out parts of their own pasts begin to unfold and they must figure out who they can trust. Will they be able to stick together or will the mystery drive them apart?

I am obsessed with this book! I loved listening to every single second. The narrator was absolutely incredible, the different accents that she was able to provide really helped to bring every character to life. The pace of the book was fast and I did not feel that there was any lag time between what was happening. I loved the set up of this mystery and can honestly say while I have read books about books this is the first time I have read one presented in this manner, and I hope that I can find others like this in the future.

I loved how the characters all came together. It was fun that they were brought together simply by being in a library. It was fun to have the library almost be a character in the story as well. My favorite character was definitely Freddie. I loved that she knew what she thought and stuck with her own thinking. She appears to be strong and independent as well as willing to stand up for what she believes in. I really enjoyed how all the relationships developed and continued to grow. There were times when I found myself getting frustrated by different characters but I liked that fact because it meant I was that into the story.

To me part of what made this book so incredible was listening to it in audio format. I feel that this story should be listened to because it makes you even more invested. I cannot say if I would have liked it less just reading it but to me listening to it was essential. There were many twists and turns and many things that I didn't see coming, down to who did it in the end. I love when I am unable to predict the ending.
