Rebel Yell: The Violence, Passion, and Redemption of Stonewall Jackson by S.C. Gwynne

5.0

Much of my understanding of the Civil War has been shaped by the political flames of modern culture . That is a mistake, and one I’m working to correct. Was slavery abhorrent and evil, yes. Did everyone who fought for the South fight FOR slavery, no. Jackson was a fascinating man and I’m glad I took the time to read this book and get this information. Do I stop here and set my opinions in stone? Nope. More books, more points of view, more knowledge.
