Whew. Joyce really challenged me with this one. To begin, James Joyce is a master writer. He knew what he was doing with his writing and knew what he was doing to those reading his literature. I'm going to be thinking about this novel for quite some time either trying to fully comprehend its meaning or in pure amazement at how baffled I am by Stephen's character and his story as a whole. I want to give this a re-read sometime in the future because it is both necessary and deserving.
