The Finish Line by Kate Stewart

5.0

5+ STARS FOR TOBIAS KING & HIS 'TRÉSOR' CECELIA!!!

"With us, looking is love, fighting is love, fucking is love, and even now, while we muddle through our collective, but distinctly different fears, it's love."

This was not just a book, this was a goddamn experience. This trilogy is so special to me, nothing will EVER match up to the feelings Kate Stewart evoked in me whilst following Cecelia, Tobias, Dom, Sean, & Tyler's journey. The whole entire story was as unique as it was nostalgic.

FLOCK showed us the start of Cecelia's journey into adulthood, as she discovered facets of her own personality, whilst being introduced to a new way of thinking and life by Sean and Dom.

EXODUS showed us the effects of an intense relationship on a young girl who still has so much left to discover because her heart is simply too big to not love more people. This book not only showed Cecelia's growth but introduced us to Tobias King the mastermind behind everything.

The Finish Line was Tobias's story, uncovering the secrets and mystery behind the man who set out to change the world with his brothers, the ravens. Tobias is everything. He's strong but at times weak due to his love for his brothers and Cecelia, constantly fighting an inner battle of thinking he doesn't deserve her, pushing her away to protect her, or loving her hard and aggressively to wipe away remnants of her feelings for Sean and Dom.

“Ma chatte. Mon corps. Ma femme. Mon coeur. Ma vie." My pussy. My body. My woman. My heart. My life.

He was so complex in his thoughts and feelings, that in this book when he was stripped back of all of his work, sacrificing everything to show Cecelia how much he cares, we saw him for what he really is. A lonely man who gave up his life to protect others, finally finding the one thing that brings him solace and is meant for him. Tobias was sexy, enigmatic, tortured but above all he was funny, he loved HARD, he loved all-consumingly and he gave his entire heart to Cecelia!

“From the little girl with mischievous eyes to a woman with nothing but fire in her heart- she stole me first, and that's the truest truth of this thief's heart."

Cecilia was a freaking badass in this book.

My favorite thing about her is how she fought for herself. Tobias made many mistakes, although his reasoning behind his abandonment wasn't a waffley/shitty excuse like most heroes in romance novels, and she made him work for it! She wanted him to acknowledge her pain by forcing him to reflect on WHY she is being standoffish. Allowing Tobias to write his feelings out, making him create his own path in life now that he has sacrificed his life, for the first time in years Tobias had to put his own feelings first.

I think this is a series people need to go into blind, and if everyone is here reading/finishing this book, what a fucking journey we've been on! Men like Tobias (unfortunately) do not exist in my life, however, I hope every girl finds someone just like him. Ready to protect and serve his queen! I will remember this series for years to come and honestly, someone needs to hand this script over to Netflix asap!!!!
