Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

4.5

What a beautifully tragic story. It showed how everyone is imperfect yet they can still be loved for it. Something about how everything was laid out about these rockstars felt simultaneously profound and overly simplistic.

The full cast of narrators for this one was fantastic! It felt like I was genuinely sitting down listening to these interviews. The quality of the narration felt raw and appropriately full of emotion to tell the story well.

Even if this type of story isn't really your thing, I feel like it is a book you should read because it might change your perspective. There was a quote I don't remember exactly but it spoke about how all humans are a bit narcissistic because we will inevitably feel that the world is conspiring for or against us. It's a concept I've had to sit with for a while but brought about a lot of thought for me.

Overall, I highly recommend this book, whether you come to love it or hate it, it's entirely worth experiencing. I look forward to trying out the show and seeing how much I enjoy it.
