I’m reading this so late in my journey of understanding racial justice in the United States that it’s both odd how familiar so many concepts are - but also reminds me of how much we did not listen in the after period. This feels as prescient now in 2025, as it must have felt in 1967 and that is a damning indictment for white liberal America. We have a chance in this moment to know better and do better, we don’t have to be here yet in 2067, but we need to wake up now.
