Taking into account that I am about 20 years too old for the book, it wasn't terrible. 12 year old me would have liked it.
There were flaws, like the MC always seems surprised that her friends/family don't recognize her, or that the dark-lifers are completely irrelevent to the storyline. Still, a nice story with solid characters and good life lessons.
