A wonderfully written book. It is presented in the second person, as we, descendants of immigrants now living in an unnamed country embroiled in war, visit a divine theatre in our dreams and watch a play about a story from the Old Country. That story is then told in the third person, with occasional first person interjections from the heroes, villains, bystanders, and even the deceased. These interweaving perspectives constantly ask the question of who a story belongs to. And the answer is, of course, that a story belongs to everyone. Everyone in the story. Everyone who tells the story. Everyone who hears the story.
