Unfu*k Yourself by Gary John Bishop

2.5

I put this book on while I was cleaning, and within the first ten minutes, I felt personally attacked. I had just told a friend how much I hate cleaning the bathroom, folding laundry, and emptying the dishwasher—then the author hits me with:

“Think about the daily chores you hate the most… we sometimes avoid doing simple things like folding the laundry or emptying the dishwasher when they actually take little time and effort—it’s easy to collapse them with the bigger and more important things until we find ourselves overwhelmed.”

AND THEN: “You have a serious self-talk blockage.” Bahahaha. Rude but not wrong.

I did enjoy parts of the book that touched on free will and decision-making—there were a few quotes that made me pause and reflect—but overall, this wasn’t anything groundbreaking for me. A few nuggets, but not a game-changer.

Solid background listen, but not one I’d rush to recommend.
