The Silent Wife by A.S.A. Harrison
2.0

Good gravy, for a book so focused on a character who plays with the power, both good and bad, of using silence, the author never shied away from droning on and on. I mean... there was so much minutia in here that added nothing to the plot, and then the actual big plot points were SO rushed over. The thing is, the understated way many of the big reveals were handled really would have worked for me, were they not so buried among the rest. It was the strangest combination.

You know from the outset there's going to be a murder, but boy does it drag on until we get there. And not in a building good tension way, more in a "is this EVER going to happen so we can wrap this up?" sort of way.
