Book Review - Silver Sparrow  
My father, James Witherspoon, is a bigamist, what a way to open a book 😂

I think Tayari Jones is now one of my favourite authors. I really enjoyed reading An American Marriage, everyone is tired of me talking about this book I’m sure 🙊 annnnnd Silver Sparrow was equally as exciting for me

I couldn’t find a physical copy sadly so I listened to the audiobook on Scribd, I think this helped bring the story to life for me, lovvveeeed!

The story is told from the POV of the young daughters of James Witherspoon, who has a recognised family and a secret family. 

Interestingly, the daughter from the secret family and her mum knew about her fathers public family, but the reverse was not the case. Until the girls run into eachother at the mall and become friends. And as you guessed, wahala central from there 🤦🏽‍♀️

Ultimately it made me sad that the young girl had to keep such a secret, and have to always play 2nd fiddle. Eventually both sets of women meet eachother and there’s a confrontation.

I loved reading this book just as I thought I would. I’m sure you would too

Book Review - An American Marriage 
Being black in America, could anything be more scary ? We get to review this beautiful book by Tayari Jones about a young black couple who have a series of unfortunate events happen to them and take their lives in completely different directions than what they planned. 

Verdict - Absolutely recommend, one of my top 5 books of all time
