Mariana Zapata is truly the Queen of Slow Burns. And when I saw slow burn, I mean a SLOW burn.
Seriously, the couple doesn’t even kiss until 77% of the way through the book, but the chemistry is the best.
I’ve loved her writing since I read From Lukov with Love so many years ago, but she gets me every time. Sal and Reiner were so much fun to get to know through the book, and I loved having Sal’s perspective throughout. Zapata writes such rich, deep characters that the tension and plot is enough to keep you enthralled. This is one of those books that I wish I could read again for the first time because I loved it so much!
