A truly wonderful young adult graphic novel! I was completely swept away by the world, the characters, and the writing. As I was reading it I could feel that the pages in front of me were necessary and special.

I would recommend to everyone but especially young people!

I will say that to me, the ending felt a bit rushed. We did not SEE a lot of the emotional shifts in the characters, we were mainly just TOLD about them. I was left wanting more of an emotional ending since the book does such a fantastic job at setting the emotional stakes.

TW: violence, war, colonialism, death, ethnophobia.
