The beginning of the story held such promise. An interesting magic system, a cozy setting, a cute romance, but everything spun out to overly cliché with a Big Bad who was evil because power is eViL. The twist was easy to see coming by the time you hit Part 2. And Marigold is kind of dumb/naive and selfish. But if you are looking for a mildly spicy, queer, cottagecore romance then this is great!
