An Event in Autumn by Henning Mankell

4.0

More a novella than an actual novel, this was an interesting brief mystery that occurs later in the Kurt Wallander series. I tried reading Dogs of Riga (book 3 in the Wallander series I believe) a long time ago and couldn’t get into it as the writing style was different from American crime authors — but now that I’ve had more experience and enjoyment of Scandinavian translated crime novels, and know to expect a slightly different cadence and intensity of writing, I may try the series again.
