Sleeping Murder by Agatha Christie

5.0

This was my chosen Agatha Christie book for December, having read one a month again in 2024. I have been reading one Agatha Christie book every month since 2020 and I've got a long way to go before finishing reading all her books.

I very much enjoyed Sleeping Murder, a Miss Marple mystery. There are, as always, quite a few characters who could have committed the crime that took place 18 years ago, but was it a crime or a disappearance?

Like Gwenda and Giles, the couple who are doing the sleuthing with some input from Miss Marple, there were two people who had very good reasons to misbehave. And then, halfway through the book another possibility which wasn't mentioned came to the back of my mind. What if? But why? Really? Wow.

It was a really good whodunnit.

Who do you prefer as a mystery solver? Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot ? In the last year, I have come to enjoy Miss Marple's mysteries more as I sometimes find Poirot rather annoying?
