Mrs. Claus Is A Serial Killer
by Fatima Munroe
So listen...I was curious. I saw the title and said, “Oh we’re doing crime at the North Pole, Bet.” But what I got felt less like a murder mystery and more like a chaotic Christmas special that got hijacked halfway through. There were just so many characters being introduced out of nowhere. The plot had potential, but it got lost in all the noise.
I kept waiting for it to click or settle into a rhythm, but it never quite got there. To be fair, this was Fatima Munroe’s first time experimenting with this kind of storytelling, and that matters. Trying something new is hard. Just because it didn’t land for me doesn’t mean it won’t work for someone else. If you’re into experimental pacing, a quirky premise, and don’t mind a little chaos with her thought process, you might actually enjoy this more than I did.
Unfortunately this one missed the mark for me. Although Mrs.Claus was fabulous at her version of events, the plot needed focus when it came to the involvement of other characters. But if you like a wild concept and can overlook the clutter then I say go for it, purchase your golden ticket for this polar express ride.
