The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest
by Stieg Larsson
The series started out at 5-stars, but I only give this third book 3. It was not bad, but definitely lacked the excitement, intrigue, and shock value of the first book. It didn't hold my attention at all the way the first two did. The main character, Salander, was confined to the hospital most of the time and the story was mostly about other characters trying to help her out peripherally. There were long sections about random bit-characters that totally lost my attention and were ultimately a bit needless. I actually enjoyed the last chapter the most, and felt that it could have been the heart of a whole additional plot. Unfortunately, it was the end. In terms of the whole series, this book generally wrapped things up satisfactorily, but lacked any momentous climax.
