Three Women

For me this book spells out the horrors of being a cis straight woman in the US who centers men in their sexuality than anything. I found the storytelling very engaging and had a hard time putting it down. I found myself rooting for all of them but especially Lina. But I was so disappointed by their constant centering of men in their narratives and the anti-climactic conclusions of their stories. They all seemed beaten down or complacent to the circumstances that men had put them in, which is a reality for many women but not something I would expect from such a popular book. Also I felt that the epilogue carried the weight of explaining the intention of book. Without it, I would not have understood what message or understanding I was supposed to walk away with.
