Preppy: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part Two by T.M. Frazier

"You are my light when I'm surrounded by nothing but dark."
As on of my all time favorite characters, Preppy has a very special place in my heart. I though Part Two was a great continuation of his story. It started out a bit slow in the beginning but I thought those moments were essential to the story. We can't always have a happy, funny and care-free Preppy. This man has gone through very horrific things and it broke Preppy. My heart broke for him because his light was dimmed, but not completely burned out. I was really excited to see how his relationship with Dre would progress in this book, and I have to say it did in a very organic way. Nothing felt rushed and the author took her time to tell the story.
"I was lost." "You were, but I found you."
I loved being reunited with King, Bear, Thia and Ray. They are a very important part in Preppy's life and were such a support to him in this book. There are a couple of secrets revealed in this book that I think was done and handled in a very clever way. The author didn't add any unnecessary drama to the story, which is one of my book pet peeves. Another character I loved made an appearance in this book, I hope he will play a bigger role in Part Three. In this book you'll see another side to Preppy. I felt I really got to know him better and understood where he was coming from. Preppy and Dre are perfect for each other and I just can't wait to see how their relationship will grow in the next book. As for the ending of Part Two, let me just say that it has me on the edge of my seat!! I need more PREPPY!
