I literally just got this book for the Patricia Briggs story. Haven't read the others. It's fun seeing Asil in a more... Casual story. He's been an enjoyable character and it is nice to get a story of him actually enjoying himself, even if he got to that point in a really... Unusual way.
This is a story I read for the first time in 2024, though it did get added into the middle of my reread of the Mercy Thompson World books. Its much more lighthearted than the other entries in either related series. Which also means there is no mention of rape-- I am noting mentions of up to inclusions of rape in all books in the reread because I realized that it is in almost every single one of both series. And some of it is quite graphic. Fortunately, not this one.
