Murder mystery in space? Sign me up! I mean not to be murdered, but to solve it? Heck yeah! I found this story to be enjoyable but lacking in the explosive ending department. The moment every mystery reader enjoys is the light bulb. When everything comes together, every clue becomes clear. In The Spare Man?Well we could have used a few spare clues to help us out. The ending was lackluster in comparison to the lead up. The murderer reveal ended up being a colossal let down as all the clues leading up to their reveal did nothing to aid the reader in trying to figure it out themselves. I enjoyed Tesla Crane, a self-aware billionaire, as the main character, and her side kick Gimlet was a fun edition. Overall this was mid (hence the 3 stars). Not bad, but not anything to write home about.
