• Strong character development? No
• Loveable characters? No

Thriller? Sure, but not always. I can't tell what the author wanted the greater message to be besides pregnancy's a bitch and the way women can be treated in medicine and society at large can be terrible. Also the power of witchy female friendships across time? The tone changed a lot and I didn't find the writing particularly compelling. Unfortunately didn't live up to my expectations. I skimmed much of it near the end.
