Two thumbs up! My knowledge of Siskel & Ebert prior to reading this book was their iconic endorsement of "two thumbs up". I recall seeing it in advertising and splashed across VHS tapes of my youth as an endorsement of films. I savored this audiobook and getting to know each of them more.
The book chronicles both men's careers before they're surprisingly paired to become film critics on television, the various iterations of their show and their lasting legacy beyond their lifetimes. The biggest compliment I can give this book is it inspired me to dive deeper into clips from the show on YouTube. (highly recommend searching "Siskel & Ebert Muppets" for their takes on the Muppet films from the first Muppet Movie through Muppet Treasure Island)
