Northern Deception by Tonya Burrows

adventurous challenging emotional funny sad tense medium-paced

3.75

A forensic vet and a cop (who had an ONS) in a race to find his father and unravel murder. He's a gruff, shy mountain man with a darker side; she's capable and icy cool. Both of them had issues that led them to cope with one-time only anonymous sex, but found themselves wanting. They grow closer while fighting to survive, and the connection built seems genuine. They have good chemistry, and I enjoyed their romance, especially the more intimate sharing.

But her
decision to trick him into arrest really, really sucked, regardless of reasons. Super disliked this plot. And no grovel
. Nate and his growth are fantastic, however. More of the mystery is revealed but it's still unresolved. The dogs remained super adorable though Peanut 101% stole the show with her few scenes!
