dark emotional sad

3.25

I will start out by saying i loved books one and two of this series and the whole idea behind it. This one was a little harder. It felt like so much time was spent doing the same things and it was just a book of breaking down the characters. I feel like the first two books gave us so much life to the characters and personality but I walk away from this one feeling like we lost it all. This series has also been pretty predictable so far which isn’t bad but also you kind of wish to be surprised more.

Soft spoilers ahead:

Wrengly is 100% still a bad guy. She was purposely trying to lead Dayton somewhere and I’m guessing the proof of being mates is just another flower messing with them. We know shes not actually his mate. Also the hint at Nightingale also being the Queens daughter and Rosalinas sister is interesting…how did this pregnancy come about if the Queen loves her husband and Rosalina is the older sister? I’m curious to see where they go with it all.

Overall I wouldn’t necessarily say it was an enjoyable read because of all the negative things happening and just sadness. But the story has to be built up somehow. Just hoping for more lightheartedness in the next.
