This was not a favorite, but it was mysterious enough to keep me reading. The caracters and what they can do is original, the magic aspect is original. The story starts by being non linear and ends up being linear and it is written in the 3rd person which are not my preferences. Also, it is more slow paced. I think there is potential for more. 
Oh! And if you read the French version, be aware that the proof reading wasn't done properly. That always saddens me.

The fmc is not the one being abused, but her older sister is. She doesn't realise what is going on and what her mom's letters mean until she sees the bruises. Also, the fmc is ready to die so she can save her sister. Her friend tried to end is life and is not bothered by death.
